Christmas has come early for the decorati. The opening of Zara Home’s flagship store in Dundrum Town Centre delivers a serious style injection to in-store retail. Here’s what you can expect:
Set on the main square at Dundrum Town Centre overlooking the historic mill pond centrepiece, Zara Home opens its Dublin doors to much fanfare today at midday.
We’ve all shopped its stores while on holidays. Beloved by interiors photographers, stagers and stylists, many bring extra suitcases on vacation to bring home their haul.

The former Hollister store has been reimagined by its in-house visual merchandising team to deliver 750 square metres of home shopping heaven featuring polished concrete floors and a staircase sweeping from the ground floor to the level above.
Set over two floors, the kitchen stock is arranged around the front entrance. This leads through to an area given over to seasonal switches. Right now, it’s full deck the halls, Christmas mode.

This flows into the living and dining room areas. There’s seating with skirts, simple foldable towel racks, burr wood pedestals, tableware you didn’t even know that you needed, bedding perfect for hibernation season, and that aforementioned Christmas collection that will sell out in record time. It includes mercury glass-look decorations that range in price from €3.99 to €6.99.
The brand has collaborated with many well-known names; current collections include Belgian architect and designer Vincent Van Duysen, whose work is described as humanised minimalism.

In addition to his work for the Spanish chain, he has also collaborated with high-end Italian furniture makers such as B&B Italia, Zanotta and De Padova, lighting firm Flos, Spanish furniture maker Kettal and Belgian design brand Serax. He has been creative director of the Italian furniture brand Molteni&C for a decade.
There’s an oiled dining table, 01, €5,700, while the matching dining chairs come in a pale or dark stain option and cost €419 each. This is the top-of-the-range pricing. Several of his sofas, which are priced from €3,000 for the loveseat shown, also populate the space.

Upstairs is the bedding department, where there’s a cuddletastic cotton jersey duvet cover, €59.99, a touch-me 300 thread count cotton percale duvet cover, €69.99, and a festive gingham cover in flannel, €69.99, all for king size.
A pair of matching pillowcases starts from €39.99. The range includes mulberry silk pillowcases, said to be kinder to your face as you sleep.

The bathroom section is also at this level and includes fashionable marble soap dispensers, cotton waffle towels and leopard print bath sheets.
There’s also an extensive fragrance hall that includes scented candles in dessert fragrances like gingerbread, salted caramel and tiramisu, and reed diffusers in a range of scents including the crisp, clean blossom shown.

Irish shoppers have been waiting a long time to have the store here. Expect it to be thronged through the weekend and become a place you will return to again and again, to pick up finds big and small.
The store, which includes click and collect, opens its doors at 12 midday today in the Pembroke district of Dundrum Town Centre. For more, see Zara Home. For address information, click here.
