It's all over the catwalk and now returns to our homes, but is your house Granny chic?

Scour the cupboards at home, check out charity shops, online marketplaces, and auctions to get the Granny chic look.

Dial up your inner octogenarian and invest in cabinets and dressers, dig out or borrow the good china, lay lace tablecloths, and hang frills everywhere, from curtains under the scullery sink to trimming bed linen and cushions.

It’s all over the catwalks and adorning curtains, pelmets, cushions, and tableware.

Granny chic is a thing, a nostalgic, backwards glance at eras when setting the scene for special occasions was a thing.

It’s a look that has lasted the test of time, time and again.

In the lead image, it includes a Lenny lion butter dish, €54; striped coupe stemware, €41.50 per pair, and plaited place mats, €24 each. Perfect for serving brunch.

Welcome the return of brown furniture

Yellow London MClayton 2303 12 YEL COO 035

After a long period in decor Siberia brown furniture is back.

It adds warmth and richness to a room, especially in a period property.

The piece also tells a story. It may have belonged to someone in your family, or you picked it up in a vintage shop or at auction.

This chest of drawers is what hooks this whole look by Yellow London together.

It makes the wallpaper pop, too.
