For Sale

Flattered by the follow, John? Irish property Instagram handle Romantic Irish Rescue now counts Channing Tatum as one of his 44k plus fans. Could the Magic Mike star be home hunting in Ireland?

Romantic Irish Rescue is one of the best home-grown accounts covering property. Run by creative director John O'Shaughnessy, it shows his love of heritage buildings in a way that woos you in.

Covering every budget, from grand to humble, it offers informed content, and it garners attention from estate agents, buyers, renovators and dreamers.

And a few celebrities. The list includes actor James Norton, wordsmith Mariella Frostrup, and our own rugby star-turned tech growth leader, Jamie Heaslip and songstress Gemma Hayes.

Actor Channing Tatum is just the latest fan to follow the fantastic feed.

The Magic Mike star is in Ireland filming the Amazon MGM Studios Isle of Man, which is based on the legendary motorcycle race, the Isle of Man TT.

In between takes, he might be lured by the Lecture Hall in Nenagh, Co Tipperary.

Also known as 48 Pearse Street, Nenagh, it was designed by Dublin architect William Fogarty and is being sold as office space, seeking €350,000 through Sherry FitzGerald Talbot.

It has wonderful features, but what’s also of interest is that John also calls out is civic past.

In an era before public libraries, it was home to the “Nenagh Young Men's Literary Association, which provided reading rooms, libraries, lectures and debates, creating opportunities for self-education and public discussion.”

He says the building speaks to Victorian educational idealism and civic improvement, but he caveats that by wondering what date women were permitted to join.
