Pinterest’s annual trends report, compiled from mining two years of data, captures some of the moods it predicts will populate our mood boards next year.
Everyone’s favourite mood board maker, Pinterest, has just announced its trend forecast for 2026.
Pinterest Predicts covers beauty, fashion, travel and home and distils its myriad sources into colour-saturated, copy-friendly themes.
Minimalists look away now.

Afrohemian Décor
Pinterest says 2026 will bring a fusion of African and bohemian styles.
"Searches for ‘African boho living room’ and ‘afro chic home decor’ are trending up on Pinterest, taking home spaces to Dakar and beyond. Expect colourful Nigerian textiles and Ethiopian wall art alongside handwoven baskets and natural fibre rugs.”

London-based Eva Sonaike’s Kano collection cushions, seen in the lead image, nail the look in an easy way to populate your sofa or bed.
They cost about €120, ex delivery, each.
The range also features accent furniture, wallpapers, a collaboration with Robert Langford shown above, from about €151 per roll, and fabrics, from about €125 per linear metre.

Closer to home, you can buy Hadithi's fine weave handwoven sisal baskets crafted in the Taita Hills of Kenya, from €30 to €65, from Dublin-based Tomorrows Store.

Cool Blue
Meet the shade that refuses to warm up to anyone, Pinterest writes.
“Gen Z and Millennials are bringing a subzero sophistication to absolutely everything in 2026—think cool-toned coats, glacier-inspired accessories and the frostiest of cocktails.
"It’s the temp drop we’ve all been waiting for.”

Add it in an everyday way with a new coffee mug.
This blue Safie stoneware mug, €18.50, from Avoca, is perfect.

Swap greys or terracotta for Dulux Mellow Flow, part of its Colour Futures Colours 2026 Rhythm of Blues range. A 2.5 litre tin of vinyl emulsion will cost about €36.50.
Or, turn over a new sheet in bed with Daisy, a fresh look for linen, 169 for a superking set from Foxford.

Fun Haus
Big top, bigger personality, Pinterest writes.
“In 2026, circus-inspired home décor will be on the rise, think bold stripes, sculptural silhouettes and just a wink of clownish charm.
"The trick is balance. Pair punch-line patterns with pared-back palettes so the space feels elevated, but oh, so out there.”

Add instant personality with these Electric Coast Palm stoneware storage jars by Eleanor Bowmer.
Measuring 800 ml in volume and decoratively dramatic, they cost €37.99 each from Very.

Bring in big top strips in a small way with this bone, mango wood and bone side table, €620, from Interiors Atelier.

Neo Deco
The Art Deco trend is getting a modern twist: shiny, sleek and tuned to 2026.
After years of heavy minimalism, this retro aesthetic is back with crisp chevrons, fan arches and other geometric hits, all edged in chrome or brass.

Perfect for smaller spaces, the ebonised lines of the Kenji sideboard, 140 cm long, seen above, costs about €529, ex delivery, from April and the Bear.
It won’t land in time for Christmas but will be perfect for a clean sweep mid-January.

This Sophie Robinson dining chair, featuring a cobalt blue wiggle fabric, will add instant pizzazz.
It’s part of the Dunelm range, which isn’t yet available to buy in the Republic, but you could travel to the north and buy it from its large Belfast store.
Call ahead on 048 9568 5512. Expect to pay about €210 for it.
Bold, glam—and just a touch eccentric.
