Burn, baby, burn: new season scents to fragrance your space

From atomisers to diffusers, candles, and incense, here are six ways to work a fresh new-season fragrance into your home.

Each season brings with it a new olfactory mood.

The smell of the earth as the rainfall soaks the ground, wood burning in chimneys, and one-pot wonders to warm up the family when you get home in the evening.

The mood turns dark and introspective. Channel it with a scent check.

Blowing smoke

Created in 1996, Astier de Villatte has many facets: an artisanal ceramics workshop, a typographic printing press, a publishing house, and a perfume creator.

The ceramics workshop in Paris takes up and modernises the tradition of Parisian manufactures of the 18th century and brings the art of stamping up to date.

Its incense burners ooze personality and range in price from about €73 to €380.

The hands shown cost €322, while there's a cool cat that blows smoke for €322.

Its boxes of incense, €55 each, imbue a sense of place from Hollywood to Delhi, Buenos Aires to Stockholm and need to be experienced before you select. Peruse the range at Electra, Donnybrook, Dublin 4.
