Current stock also shown includes the breadbasket, €6.96, and the bamboo handle, glass teapot. €12.48.

The dining chair, just seen, will also drop later.

Fine dining menu

This ceramic 12-piece set brings colour and texture to the table. It will allow you to empty cupboards of old chipped pieces that are taking up space and are not being used.

The Jules set from Bloomingville, shown in grey, features bowls, side plates and dinner plates and costs €289, through Nordic Nest with free shipping to Ireland.

Eat your greens

Beloved French etailer La Redoute earthenware dinner plate set comes with stylised kale green hand-painted designs on the stoneware.

These Riveri plates are currently reduced from €32 to about €26.50 for a set of four.

Cook up a new look

Part of Zara Home’s new spring collection includes this practical porcelain collection that features an antique trim.

It is available in ecru, shown or a celadon green, and each piece can be ordered separately.

It includes dinner plates, €7.99 each; 19cm dessert plates, €6.99 each and 15 cm side plates, €5.99, as well as pasta bowls, €11.99, tea cups and mugs and cereal and side salad bowls.

Add a tropical taste

Villeroy & Boch’s fine bone china collections include Avarua, which features tropical motifs inspired by Captain Cook’s voyages in the South Pacific and is named after the capital of the Cook Islands.

Dinner plates and pasta bowls cost €69.90 each; 22cm breakfast plates cost €67.90 each, and 15.5cm bowls cost €54.90 each.

The tea set is also notable.

The collection can be ordered on a piece-by-piece basis through stockist Arnotts, which only has a couple of items on display.

Spruce up the table setting

Ticks a few trend boxes at once with a tassel-trimmed tablecloth.

It will smarten up the most important meal of the day and create a sense of occasion that might encourage less perching at the counter and actually sitting down together.

The cotton linen mix Pahjim tablecloth will also hide a multitude of tabletop scars, and costs about €25 from Amazon, excluding delivery.
