Soft-touch upholstered beds with killer curves that will beguile.
The bed is a place we spend up to one-third of our lives in. It needs to look and feel good and bring joy to you when you climb in.
It also needs to look seductive.
Whether you like to spoon or starfish, sleep supine, prone or on your side, here are options for every type and aesthetic.

Cloud curves
Resembling a cloud and now a modern classic, the Bubble, first designed by Sacha Lakic in 2014 for Roche Bobois with the beds added in 2012, is textured in a way that you’ll want to run your hands over.
The upholstered frame comes in some 27 colour options, many of them tonal neutrals.
This is a statement way to slumber. The bed, which measures 202 cm wide, has a headboard that is 90 cm and is 266 cm long. It is also low-slung. The lower option ranges from 12cm to 17.5 cm off the ground to the slat level.
The higher option is 27.5 cm from the floor. The European size, 169 cm by 190 cm, is a little bigger than an Irish king size, and normally costs €9,880, excluding the mattress.
It is on promotion until July 31st, which reduces it to €8,640.

Cinnamon roll
Made.com’s Leonora has chunky legs and a piped angular headboard.
The bed, as shown, comes in two colours: cinnamon velvet or an oatmeal boucle.
The model also comes in an ottoman storage option, essential for hidden storage such as additional beddings, extra pillows and blankets and perhaps summer and winter tog duvets.
It comes in double, king, and super king sizes with prices ranging from €795 to €962.50.
The latter measures 192 cm wide, is 218 cm long, and its headboard is 110 cm from the ground.
The ottoman version comes in pistachio green velvet or oatmeal boucle, and ranges in price from €1,061 to about €1,295 through Next.ie

1970s Glamour

The black decorative design features ornate metalwork with an intricate peacock-inspired pattern, adding an exotic touch to your sleeping sanctuary.
Available for delivery to Ireland through Next.ie. Team with a tactile satin eiderdown to climb under.
A 100 per cent silk satin eiderdown can be made to order by UK-based Dearest Violet.
In a king-size, with a down and feather filling in rosebud pink, it will cost about €712, excluding delivery.

Ice queen hue
The new Very Collection includes this upholstered bed that will melt hearts. Its wing-back headboard creates a cocooning feeling that also lends privacy to the space.
The ice-blue upholstered bed is a place to share whispers and snuggles under the textured bedding, also shown, from €39, and bedspread, €78. A double bed starts from €1075.
Add soft lighting, courtesy of the table lamp, €62.99 and chrome-finish side table, €259.

Princess bed
For a princess-style approach to bedtime, this Joules Thornton floral frame features all-over patterned upholstery and a tiara-shaped headboard.
Also upholstered behind the headboard, it gives it a polished boutique hotel look and allows it to stand freely in a room, commanding attention. A double, with turned feet on slender ankles, costs €1,495, from DFS.ie.
There is also an option to include ottoman storage. This version sits flush with the floor and will cost an additional €324.

Frills and spills
Staple guns at the ready. If you have a tired-looking headboard that you want to turn into a boudoir fit for Marie Antoinette, invest in a little DIY to help add swags, frills and flounces.
Distinctly feminine, it’s a maximalist approach.
The fabric shown on the headboard and footstool is the flush-making strawberries and cream colourway, Stapleton Park from Sanderson, which costs €140 per metre.
The passementerie detailing features Sanderson x Salvesen Graham trimmings, which cost from €24 per metre.

Spell it out
The new sofa and accessories range by Amanda Holden for DFS has just dropped, and its accessories have oodles of va-va-voom.
This Ooh La La bolster cushion is bold and irresistibly sumptuous.
Measuring 50 cm long and 26 cm high, you could use it to signal to your partner.
The satin yellow with pink fringing design has a sister style, a teal and pink twining, featuring the words Disco Nap, that could be considered a modern way to communicate “not tonight, darling” perhaps, gently and decoratively? The boldster costs €89.
