Those who live and love Portmarnock don’t tend to boast about it. Truth be told, they would like the place to stay under the radar, as much as a cool, coastal part of Dublin can remain on the QT.
When the sun is out, it already draws all of Dublin’s beach-loving day trippers. The village is served by two well-stocked supermarkets: a Lidl and a Dunnes Stores, along with Jus du Vin, one of the best independent wine stores in the country.
The only criticism of this coastal village is that the Dart station is some distance on foot from the village.
