A-list actress Angelina Jolie’s Hollywood mansion, which previously belonged to a founding father of American cinema, Cecil B. DeMille, is now available to buy for a jaw-dropping price.
The storied estate is rarely listed on the market, making it a “once-in-a-generation opportunity to own a piece of Hollywood history”.
Spanning over 1,200 square metres, the massive home consists of five bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, a one-bedroom guesthouse, a pool house, a tea house, and a separate garage.

Address: 2000 De Mille Drive, Los Angeles, California, USA.
Price: US $29.85 million (about €25.5 million)
Agent: Sotheby’s International Realty Beverly Hills Brokerage / Ernie Carswell & Associates

Jolie has been living in the mansion since 2017, acquiring it for $24.5 million shortly after filing for divorce from Brad Pitt, according to the Wall Street Journal.
In a 2024 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the Oscar-winning actress explained that she would be leaving LA when her twins turned 18, which will happen in July.

The historic house was designed in 1913 and is the best-known property of architect B. Cooper Corbett, whose Beaux-Arts style epitomised the glamour of that golden age of filmmaking.
Three years later, it was acquired by Cecil B. DeMille, who is widely regarded as one of the founding fathers of American cinema.

DeMille was behind the first feature-length film shot in Hollywood, The Squaw Man.
He is best known for his biblical epics, including Samson and Delilah (1949) and The Ten Commandments (1956).
In 1950, he appeared as himself in the classic film noir masterpiece about Tinseltown, Sunset Boulevard. His production firm, the Lansky Company, later evolved into Paramount Pictures.
His stature in Hollywood was such that the private drive on which his estate sits was named after him. It is nestled in the Laughlin Park neighbourhood of Los Feliz.

In 1920, DeMille expanded the estate to include the neighbouring residence, which had previously been owned by Charlie Chaplin.
He is believed to have collaborated with another famous California architect, Julia Morgan, best known for her work on Hearst Castle, in California's San Simeon, to unite the two homes with a graceful glass corridor.

The 2.1-acre walled compound still preserves design elements from Hollywood's founding year, its privacy intact by towering century-old trees and rolling lawns.
While the main house’s interior is kept under wraps, the guest house boasts a living room with a fireplace and a private gated entry.

The estate’s garage has a security station, with a fitness studio accompanying the pool and tea houses on its grounds.
Due to its elevated setting, the well-planted and smartly landscaped grounds enjoy stunning views of the Hollywood Hills and Griffith Observatory.

The opportunity to buy this house is extraordinarily rare. It has had a handful of owners. The DeMille family retained it until the late 1980s, long after Cecil had died in 1959.
Since then, it has only exchanged hands once per generation, with Jolie now set to offload it to the next multi-millionaire.
The property is seeking about €25.5 million through agents Sotheby's International Realty, Beverly Hills Brokerage and Ernie Carswell & Associates.
