Own-door three-bed apartment in the Disney film location of Enniskerry, €425k

For Sale

A three-bedroom, two-bathroom, own-door apartment in Ireland’s self-proclaimed prettiest village of Enniskerry, the location of the Disney film Disenchanted, described by actress Jaya Mays as “perfect picture-book setting”.

For the summer of 2021, the Victorian village of Enniskerry, just 20 kilometres south of Dublin city and at the gateway to the Garden of Ireland, was the location for the 2022-released film, Disenchanted, the musical fantasy sequel to the 2007 film, Enchanted.

Filming took place in and around the town square and its copper-cupola clock tower, which has a shamrock-shaped base.

Every building was bedecked with garlands of faux flowers, and shops sported ye olde style signs with puns.

The cast wore medievalesque costumes as they danced to choreographed set pieces by our own Jane Shortall.

Jaya Mays, the actress who played Ruby in the film, the dim-witted assistant to Queen Giselle, played by Amy Adams, described it as the “perfect picture book setting for this type of movie”.

Handsome actor Patrick Dempsey, who played Dr Dreamy in Grey's Anatomy, reprised his role as the cynical New York divorce lawyer Robert Philip from the original 2007 film.

At the top of the brae from Enniskerry’s square is Wogan House, a terraced masonry-fronted townhouse that is painted an earthy green.

It opens from the street into an own-door three-bedroom apartment, starting with a good-sized hall; this gives parents of small kids somewhere to park a buggy without it interfering with other residents’ movements, for you have the rest of the house to yourself.

The main living space and accommodation is up a flight of stairs where the internal landing gets daylight through a rooflight.

dining living

The dual-aspect living area is laid out in an open-plan fashion to the left. It has a pistachio green gloss kitchen with a peninsula area and an all-white dining table and chairs.

In the living area, an L-shaped sofa wraps around the open hearth of the cast iron fireplace.

Two of the three bedrooms are doubles and also on this level. Both rooms are carpeted and have built-in wardrobes but are devoid of furniture.

Instead, these have been virtually staged for sale.

The third bedroom is up a further set of steps, where the family bathroom also is. A large single, it too has been virtually staged for sale.
